Millar/Miller - Ardstraw

I'm looking for information about David Millar who lived in Ardstraw circa 1798.
He married Mary unknown.
They are buried in Ardstraw Old Cemetery.
Surname varies from Millar to Miller, mostly er latterly.

Hi, not much information there, more information may yield better results.

 I note several Millars recorded in Ardstraw in 1796, Andrew, Edmund and John all appear in the Flax Growers bounty list for the Parish but no David.

There is a David Millar recorded in 1833 in the Tithe books for the Parish of Ardstraw living in the townland of Churchtown, but this may be too late for your David.

Have you dates for marriage, children etc?

David Millar (1798 – 1860.)  m Mary Unknown (1800 – 1850)
I think David had a sister, Elizabeth, who married Robert Irwin. I gleaned this info from R.I’s Will!! How unfortunate David didn’t write one!
There’s also an Andrew Miller who had a son, Thomas who married Margaret Clarke. Could there be a relationship? I ask as when David Miller & Mary Anne Woodburn went to live in Lack, Co. Fermanagh they moved into Thomas’ house.  Coincidence? Don’t know where Thomas & family went.
The children of David & Mary Unknown -
David (1838 – 1913 ) m Mary Anne Woodburn. My gt-g’parents.
Mary ( 1832 – 1894) m William James Russell (1824-1900)
Margaret  (1830-1869) from Grave Inscription
Thomas (1821 – 1893) m Fanny Irvine (1837-1896)
Charles Rev. ( 1834 – 1894) m Margaret Elizabeth Patterson(1854-1918)
Andrew (1835 – 1897) m Ellen Mc Connell
William – bachelor.
James ( 1841 – 1899) m Maria ….Gillis?
I think the last 3 are correct but not 100% sure.
Churchtown link is likely as David & Mary Anne W’s first 2 sons were born ther

Hi again, I notice Andrew Millar also apperas in the tithe record of 1833 in the townland of Churchtown, Ardstraw.

The Father of Isabella Brown, b 1841, was described as William Brown, Templeveagh.
I think it could be in the direction of Brig, Ballyclog???
