I've just looked for Bray/Dray/Gray Lane in the 1861 census.....no results.    :(

There's a Drury Lane in the parish of St Mary le Strand.  ???

In 1851 a William Higginbottom, hairdresser, is living at 90 Drury Lane, Parish of St Mary le Strand.
He has a son, Thomas, who is also a hairdresser.
HO 107 / 1511 / 268 / 32

JenB, accept what you have found of course,but that first capital did not look like  D...to me  it has no definite vertical down stroke for the back of the D. ;D

The 'vertical' is in the middle, I think. The left-hand bit of the letter is a rather extravagent loop.

Drury looks the go.  I thought it may have been Drury as I did have it somewhere in my notes.
