Does anyone know details of, or is related to, an artist who painted English landscape watercolours around 1900-1910 and signed his/her paintings L E Bates?

Can you give us anymore clues?  Where was he/she from?
Hutchinson - Nottingham.
Rowland - Nottingham.
Parkin - Co Durham/Nottingham.
Gardiner/Gardner/Gardener - Co Durham.
Drake - Derbyshire/Lincolnshire/Sussex/London?
Leighton - Derbyshire.

To answer Copperbeech5:  sorry, don't know where he/she was from.  Good artist, must be remembered as such by living descendants, painted harvest scenes.

I did try g****ling the name but as yet have had no joy.  Also tried Royal Academy site, V&A and Tate - well sometimes these things show up, but sadly not as yet!
