Hi,

St George is a Registration District, as Lancs BMD.
Which surprised my as I was expecting a Registration District of Ancoats.
1851, 1861 census John was living at Lord St Ancoats, St Judes District.

Emma died in the December qt of 1859, not found on Free BMD, but Lancs BMD.

Other family members were buried at Philips Park, found on the Manchester Burial Site.

Thanks
KR

There was a St George`s church on Oldham Rd until the " slum" clearances of the late 1950`s-early 1960`s. This is in the St  George`s district.                                                                              Previously the church had been on Rochdale Rd which at that time was called St Geoge`s Rd. The first church was demolished when the railways came (1800`s) and the course of Rochdale Rd was altered and so  a new St George`s church  was built on Oldham Rd.
Don`t have exact dates,sorry.
I don`t think the first St George`s had a burial ground ,the second certainly did not.
Try Manchester General Cemetery, my ancestors lived in the same  as yours  area and some are at that cemetery.
St Michael`s had its own burial ground, but that had been a "carriage Church" ie for the gentry but by 1859 the Angel Meadow slums had beeen built and the church was in decline as its wealthy congregation moved to more salubrious districts. Best of luck. Viktoria.

Manchester cemetery records can be searched here (along with Philip's Park, Southern, Gorton and Blackley)

http://www.burialrecords.manchester.gov.uk/

I had a quick look and couldn't see them but you could try various spellings - or you may find other family members.

Milly
McBride (Monaghan, Manchester), Derbyshire (Bollington,Cheshire), Knight (Newcastle,Staffs), Smith (Chorley, Lancs & Ireland), Tipladay (Manchester & Yorkshire) ,Steadman (Madeley,Shropshire), Steele (Manchester,Glasgow), Parkinson (Wigan, Lancashire), Lovatt, Cornes & Turner (Staffs) Stott (Oldham, Lancs). All ended up Ardwick, Manchester
