Messrs Catt Coachbuilders
« on: Tuesday 10 January 12 20:39 GMT (UK) »
I have been looking for a picture of there Carriage Workshops, they were well known in their day, back in the mid 1850's.  They had a double premises 49-51 St Matthews Street Ipswich, which apparently was one of 3 shops.
I have tried lots of ways to bring up photos but nothing to date.  Can anyone help me?  Thank you Jenny

My Gt Gt Uncles.. one, i think, was Samuel.  They did very well int heir day but got too big at the wrong time.  expanding into colchester too, before being found guilty of fraud, and being jailed for a while.  the business was "taken over" by a competitor.

Some of that generation did well, Henrietta married Jewson and they built the Jewson building company, others, per my grandad, "fell of their horses" rather badly.
