Try RG10/4962/135/51 for an incorrectly transcribed Edward Waite - born 1850, Carpet Weaver from Heckmondwike.

In 1867, a Mary Waite married a William Rothery in the Dewsbury area. That couple appear on the 1871 census at reference RG10/4593/14/21. She is the right age with the right birthplace. Might be worth further investigation. William Rothery might have been the witness at George Waite's wedding in 1867.

John Thomas Waite born 1860 does not seem to appear on any census after 1861. On that census the family were living in Birmingham. There is a death registered in Birmingham in 1861 (Q3) 6d 54, for a John Thomas Waite which might be him.

I think it is possible that Edward’s wife, Eliza, died in 1864 (Q2) in Birmingham 6d 90 and that he then married Harriet Nix in 1864 (Q4) in Aston 6d 396.

Referring back to the marriage of Mary Waite, here are the details taken from "West Yorkshire, England, Marriages and Banns, 1813-1922" ....

26th October 1867 at St Peter, Birstall, William Rothery, aged 21, Bachelor, Carpet Weaver married Mary Waite, aged 19, Spinster. Their respective fathers were Thomas Rothery, Shoemaker and Edward Waite, Carpet Weaver.

right i have recieved edward and eliza's  marriage certificate and it gives edward's father as william waite the marriage took place on the 21st of october 1844 so edward would be approx 22 as he was born in 1822.
i have tried to find edward on a census search on FindMyPast but dont seem to be able to locate him i have also searched for a birth of william waite in and around the dewsbury area where edward was born and i am drawing a blank there as well.
any help appreciated :'(
