Written above this entry was transferred to San Francisco. The name may also be crossed through.

Desmond Norman Merrett. Born 1914 Australia and aged 22 years
Port of Departure: Sydney, Australia 24 June 1936 and arrived Honolulu, Hawaii 6 July 1936 on the Mariposa.

Also on California Passenger and Crew

Desmond Norman Merrett, Born 1914 Sydney, Austraalia and aged 22 years
Port of Departure: Sydney, Australia to San Francisco. California arriving 13 July 1936 on the SS Mariposa. Single. Occupation Salesman. friend was m curley (But I cannot see where that information is on the image - it wasn't on the first page and there doesn't appear to be a second page.   ???

Des was an uncle of mine. There is a family photo of him looking like Clarke Gable  dressed in a tropical white outfit standing on a palm fringed beach with the white SS Maiposa anchored in the back ground. behind him.
