Thomas & Elizabeth Mooney, 8 children
« on: Sunday 08 January 12 23:46 GMT (UK) »
Looking for more info on Thomas (b. 1877) & Elizabeth (b.1876) Mooney.
The 1901 census shows they lived at 808 Moran's Cottages Rathmines & Rathgar East.
The 1911 Census puts them in 11.2 Westmoreland Park, Rathmines & Rathgar East
It is possible that Elizabeth Mooney's maiden name was Butler.
Daughter Elizabeth (b. 1897) never married and was a domestic to a Miss Lowe in Howth
Thomas Jr (b. 1898) married a Lena Kinsella
Ellen (b. 1900) maried James McKenzie - covered in another post
Patrick (b. 1901)
John (b. 1903)
Margaret (b. 1905) married  ? Kavanagh and lived in Crumlin.
Mary (b. 1909)
Kathleen b.1909 married a "Scot" in England. I have no idea if his name was Scott or he was from Scotland.  :)

Gerry
Connor/O Connor, Kiltoom, Westmeath
Duff, Coolure, Mayne, Co. Westmeath
Clancy, Kane, Endrim & Kilpatrick, Kings County
McKenzie, Dublin and Dundee.

It looks like Margaret married John KAVANAGH in
Dublin South Jan-Mar 1928 Ref Volume 2 Page 344 on the civil records

There are some births in the civil records after that date with Kavanagh as the surname and Mooney as the Mother's maiden name

Only 3 marriages are for a Kathleen Mooney between 1928 and 1948 but none match with a surname Scott as I can see - There are also several Catherine's listed.

There is also no obvious match for Thomas and Lena in Dublin; I also looked at births in Ireland between 1920 and 1940 to F Mooney and M Kinsella and it produced a nil result; they may of course have had no children or the mother's name was not recorded - hope this helps the search

Hi ,

My grandfather was Thomas Mooney , son of Thomas and Eliza (Lizzy) they lived in bow street Dublin , moved from Kildare . If any one has information on Thomas Mooney , can they get in touch . I believe Elizabeth Mooney was Fox before she married.

Thanks  :)

Welcome to RootsChat
Is this the same Thomas Mooney as benchurian's?
I'm a bit confused by the Bow Street address and the move from Kildare as benchurian's family are all born Dublin

Better to not post any more to this thread and keep everything on one thread as there isn't any connection between these families.
