Plymouth St Andrew Parish Register - HARDING/PARTRIDGE marriage 1798
« on: Sunday 08 January 12 17:28 GMT (UK) »
If anybody has time and also access to the Plymouth St Andrew marriages for 1798 please could they check an entry for me?

I am looking for information on the marriage of JOHN HARDING and CHARITY PARTRIDGE.

I have the print out from the DFHS and this shows me that the marriage took place on 3rd Jan 1798 but it doesn't include the additional notes that the DFHS say are attached to the record.

So if there is some wonderful person with time to spare to look at what the extra information is I would be most grateful.

Many thanks

John HARDING of the 1st Devon Militia & Charity PARTRIDGE of this Parish were married in this Church by Banns No 742, this 3rd day of January one thousand seven hundred and ninety-eight by me John GANDY, Vicar. John & Charity both made their mark. In the presence of Mary BOBINS & Thos. RICHARDS. (Thos Richards appears to have been the Churchwarden as he was witness to many marriages at that time.)

Absolutely amazing, I have wondered for so  long what the notes said.  :D
Looks like I need to start reading about the 1st Devon Militia, another learning curve.
