Hi Charlotte,
My GGG Gran died 1841, before census so i'm not too sure how can go about finding out if she worked in the mills !!  Open to suggestions.

Phthisis (usually pulmonalis) or TB was a very common cause of death in those days.

Infectious disease.

Also interesting, when my mother was dying over 10 years ago it was thought she had TB, because of some of the symptoms she was having... all immediate family was tested... no one was positive.

It would have spread very easily with so many people packed into small living spaces.
