Hi BSBS and welcome,
There are various free sites that you can use to look for the family.  The 1881 census is available on several sites.  www.familysearch.org is one of them and that also has many baptisms and marriages from parish registers.   www.freebmd.org.uk has civil registration records after 1837.  FreeCEN has some census records.
They should keep you busy for a while!
