Hi,

The marriage details I gave earlier came from transcriptions by Dorset FHS, who work direct from Parish Registers, and so should be accurate.

Looks a good find for Ann;  Dorset OPC gives a date of 9 June 1793 for a baptism of Anne, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth  Pawley/Paul at Hermitage.
Nanny Jan

Unfortunately can't be that Ann Pawley as this one was buried on 14 Dec 1794 at Hermitage, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Pawley/Paul.  This is from the original PRs on Ancestry and does, unlike some of their indexing, look like a burial since the page has a split column with baptism dates one side and burials the other, so she most likely is the child baptised the previous year.  They had another Ann Paul (rather than Pawley) baptised in 1795 and so far haven't found a burial.

From the original PRs on ancestry:

Pulham
1 Aug 1790 Ann Pauley base born daughter of Betty

Pulham would appear to be not far above Charminster.  Perhaps she was older than her husband and a little economical with the truth about her age ... wouldn't be the first one to do this. ::)  No sign of other Pauley/Pawleys in Pulham so does need more research.

There are though other marriages of Ann Pauley in the area:

Holnest
5 Feb 1815 George Durden of Mintern Magna and Ann Pauley of this parish

Cerne Abbas
31 Dec 1822
William Dunning and Ann Pauley both of this parish

Ann Durden wife of George has birthplace on 1851 census as Minterne.  Ann Dunning wife of William has birthplace on 1851 census as Hermitage.  So the Pulham Anne Pauley is still a possibility which needs further research.

Good evening
Just as a comment on Charminster in Bournemouth -
My direct ancestors are The Watton Family living at Charminster Farm named in the 1841 census and Charminster was part of  Holdenhurst Parish, Hampshire. Bournemouth was just a scattering of houses round the Bourne Stream
Great Canford parish is part of Dorset.
