Over Stowey Burials prior to 1813

Hi,

Just a quick question, I have found a page which has Over Stowey burials, but only from 1813.  Just wondering if I was looking for a family that lived in Over Stowey prior to that where would I look for Burial records?

(I did try Nether Stowey, but didn't find them there.)

Ian Sage has a good quide to online Somerset parish register transcriptions:

I'm afraid the post-1813 burials seem to be the only ones currently available.

You can buy microfiche copies of the registers from the Somerset Record Office.

(And then, if so inspired, you could transcribe them yourself, or lend them to FreeREG for someone else to do.)

I do not know if this is connected to your Walford's but this website mentions the demise of a John Walford who was hung in 1789 near Nether Stowey

Thanks for that, yes I've just found out (like 2 days ago), that John Walford is the nephew of my 4 x g'grandfather.

I've got a few people I'd like to find maiden names from 1700's, but the rest of the stuff I'm chasing is 1600's and even late 1500's. So I know it's going to be quite difficult to get records.

Thanks for that. Yes I do have that information I also think the person listed on the second line (Wansford) is one of mine, as well as John Waster on 30/10/1617.

Hmm well that's a bit confusing!  I went onto the Pallots Marriage Registers and found heaps of information. Just went on then and it's changed and now it won't find the people I know I found in there only days ago!

It's funny I did note when you look at the listing of marriage there are years missing. I'm looking for a marriage for 1591 and there is nothing. There is nothing for 1654 to 1686 either.
