Hello, do you know who Sarah Linsey is born 1768 and living with William Linsey and Fanny in 1841 as shown on the census. Recorded as Independent.
Also do you have the family of Edward Linsey born abt 1780. Looks like he could be son of Edward Linsey and Elizabeth and Edward born in South Witham.

Edward Linsey baptised 30 Dec 1781 at South Witham was our joint 4th great grandfather. His parents were Edward and Elizabeth, I haven't found their marriage, so no surname for her.
 But I do have the senior Edwards baptism 2nd Feb 1754 at South Witham, parents Henry and Elizabeth LINDSEY.
 Edward (1781) was buried in Billingsborough on 13th Nov 1825 at the early age of 44. His wife Hannah Ellis went on to marry John Woodford on the same day as my 3x great grandfather married Hannah Woodford 2nd March 1829 in Billingborough.
Henry Lindsey married 13th Nov 1750 in S Witham to Elizabeth Richardson. He was baptised S Witham 31 Jan 1724 with parents Henry and Catherine, do you want to go further back?

Yes please. Where did you find this, parish records from personal searches or Lincs to the Past. I look on lincs to the past but find it difficult to search.

I am going to send for Sarah's death cert and see if that helps. At first I thought she had to be the mother but parents do seem most likely Edward Lindsey and Hannah Ellis. Perhaps a spinster aunt!??

Edward and Hannah did have a daughter Sarah but she was baptised 1823 and died 1853.I have not found a Sarah dau of Edward and Elizabeth, doesn't mean they didn't have one of course.
Mainly from Lincs to the past. I think it is a wonderful resource. Some on Ancestry, some on Family search, and some on Free reg.

I don't think Sarah could be Hannah under a wrong name or middle name as birthdates are so different. And as you see here is also a daughter Sarah, so could be named after someone!! Yes lincs to the past is excellent just have to be patient.
I searched my Linsey Skaith line a long time ago, just getting back to it to see if there is more information about. Thanks would be interested in whatever you have on the Linseys/Lindsey. My line moved to Osbournby and my grandfather was born in Gosberton.

Fanny Linsey was born in  1861 in Osbournby ( 1month old at time of census 7/8 April) so about Feb.March and married Edward Dove in 1882. She died in 1942, Edward died 1899 both Lincs.

Their children---
Mary Ann b. 1883 Helpringham.
Fanny b. 1884 Osbournby.
George William 1885 Osbournby
Sarah Elizabeth (Known as Lizzie) b.1887 Scott Willoughby
Annie b.1888 Osbournby.
Kate Maria b. 1892 Osbournby.

That is right Fanny Linsey was born 1861 and married Edward Dove in 1882. This Fanny Linsey was the daughter of George Linsey 1832 and Mary Ann Isaac 1834. George Linsey 1832 being the son of William Linsey 1809 and Fanny Scaith 1804. Fanny Linsey 1861 was the older sister of my great grandfather Joseph Lindsey (note spelling of name changed here) born 8 Feb 1877 in Osbournby.
Hope this clears up any confusion.

Hello Britgirlp and Larkspur,  could Sarah be an older sister of Edward 1781 or a younger one for Edward 1754.
Sorry! I have been searching but cannot come up with anything else, of course it's possible Linsey/var was her married name which complicates things further.
