Hi nikki68,
Glad the information was useful. A Personal Message (PM) is always nice to thank people who have helped. It is also helpful to post a reply on the forum so that others following and helping can know the progress of the request.

cheers :)

Adding: May I suggest when posting a request, you start a new post by clicking on the "NEW TOPIC" button (upper right hand side of the forum board eg Australian Board). This will avoid confusing an existing topic and makes it easier to have your request fulfilled. http://www.rootschat.com/help/posting.php
In the Title it is helpful to include keywords of your request like the name of the Family, Persons, Newspaper etc. This will clearly identify your request and makes it easier for Rootschatters to help.
Plus, since it is your original post, you will be able to close the post when your request has been completed.
http://www.rootschat.com/help/faqs.php ... If the topic is completed within 24 hours of the initial post, please use the "Modify" button to add the word *COMPLETED* to the titles of your first and last posts on the topic. Otherwise, please use the "Report to Moderator" button on the topic and send a message stating the board name and "Completed".

Hope that helps :)

Dear cupoflife,

Thank you for looking up the death notice for ROACH, (nee Whyte) Gladys Isobel "Glad". The information contained in it helped unlock a major brickwall so your help was very much appreciated.

I do apologise that I have not yet learnt to find the forum board to start a new post/topic  :o I need to obviously read the section on posting for the first time ;)

You have however put me onto a new resource The Fair Fax Media Store and I thank you so much for this. It is a bit hit and miss getting results sometimes when I have cross referenced to the Ryerson Index. Not sure if this is an OCR issue.

Thanks again

Cheers
nikki68 :D

Hi Nikki68
No need to apologise, it is all a learning experience. Just providing some tips to help you get the most out of Rootschat. Glad the information was useful, I learn something new all the time too. When searching, sometimes 'less is more', entering less information sometimes provides better results. I'm sure you will soon get the hang of things and enjoy being part of the Rootschat family.

cheers :)
