death registration missing
« on: Saturday 31 December 11 15:01 GMT (UK) »
Hello rootschatters, i hope you all had a lovely christmas and happy new year to you

I am looking for a death registration of an Ernest Richard Campion, born around 1840 in Shropshire. My great aunt has been searching for a long while and has not found anything so i suggested giving rootschat a try. His parents were Anne and Joseph

Many thanks

Hi. I notice you have also posted this request on the Breconshire boards.

Have you traced Ernest through the censuses? Rather than look for his death in his place of birth, or where he lived when young, you should probably try to locate him later in life.

Do you know if he married?

Thank you for your advice it was very helpful. We know that he signed up for the army in wrexham and was discharged on ill health a few years later but he is not on any of the censuses after he left shropshire

Hi

Have you got him on any censuses as I can't see the family at all?

What date is the last sighting of him -did he marry?

Thank you millymcb I have just come across this link today and have sent the person who posted it a message.
Have him on census in 1881 and 1891 but nothing after that. He may have married but we know nothing about him past him joining the army in wrexham and them being discharged in the late 1890s. He disappears after that x

So was he born 1877 and not 1840 as you said in your first post?

So he was still alive 22/12/1896 when he was discharged as medically unfit
