Henry PERKINS - Guernsey
« on: Thursday 29 December 11 09:36 GMT (UK) »
I recently found an ancestor Henry Perkins who, according to census records, was born in Guernsey around 1796. By 1841 he was living in Lancashire with his Yorkshire-born wife and their children. I have looked around a bit online, and there doesn't seem to be a way to find birth records online. Can anyone help me find out more about Henry and when he left Guernsey?

Hi Mell100,

Henry Perkins was my 3 X great grandfather through his eldest daughter Betsey. I have a copy of his birth entry in  St Peter Port, A dedication written by him  to his Perkins grandparents , his signature and much more. You already know of his nine siblings. Henry and Ann ( Nancy) had 8 children Betsey, Ann, Jane, Henry, Emma, George, William and John Edwin. There are present day descendants of this family in Australia and America as well as England. An extensive history of the family exists - written by the late Harry Perkins in 1980. I have written about Henry's family ( around 20 odd pages) if you would like a copy. In return, I would like to know how you are related to him and how you found out about him.

I look forward to hearing from you.
Graham ( Warrington UK)

Hi again Mell 100,

I checked your posts and know now where you fit in. I have a copy of William Herbert Perkins marriage certificate to Maria Nason, and assume you are descended from them. However if we can't chat both ways about people long gone then there is little point in our continuing.
Best Wishes Graham
