By the way my name is David,  " Slaintheva" is Scots Gaelic, its what we say when we have a drink like cheers. ;D

..and there's me with all these Scottish ancestors, including my late mother  :-[ :-[
I've heard the toast many times but never seen it written down-that's my excuse anyway  :)
 and I've done my share of first footing on Hogmanay
