marriage look up please
« on: Wednesday 21 December 11 22:45 GMT (UK) »
Hello rootschatters
My grandmother remembers an aunt and uncle called may and herbert tedder, she is definite that her mother was born in their shoe shop. They were in the bishops stortford area and i have found a birth for a herbert tedder. I have not found any info linking them yet to our family line so i am beginning to wonder if they were just people you called "aunt and uncle"!! I would like to know may tedders maiden name, thank you.

This looks like Herbert in 1901, before his marriage - and he was definitely in the boot and shoe trade.

On Free BMD, there is a birth entry for a Mary Maria Baseley Sept. Qtr. 1876, Shoreditch Reg.  Volume 1c Page 86.

Another site gives her place of birth as Tottenham Court Road, London.
