married mary jane butler.29 nov 1875 in rye. like to confirm dob and possibly his parents.
have him as engineer/motor fitter!!

The simplest way would be to purchase the marriage cert ,you'd get the name of his father then and be sure that you were tracing the right person.

Do you have him on all the censuses after marriage?

IGI has the Extracted Record of the Marriage;
29 November 1875, Rye, Sussex
William LAMBERT, Father WILLIAM Lambert
Mary Jane BUTLER, Father JAMES Butler

1881 Census William is born c 1851, Norwich, Norfolk and Mary Jane c 1851 Peasmarch, Suffolk. Living in Bethnal Green, Occp Engine Fitter.
Other than this he is hard to find as you know I am sure.
