Joseph Frith Derby
« on: Wednesday 21 December 11 05:23 GMT (UK) »
Looking for information regarding Joseph Frith of Derby. He was born about 1807 and died in 1850. Information needed about his parents, siblings and birthplace. Can't go back any further in my family tree until I get this information.
Thanks.

Hi
The IGI has a Joseph Frith born ch June 1807 at Atlow Derbys to George Frith and Jane.
Do you have him on the 1841 Census? Does this tie in?

IGI also has a George Frith marrying Jane Gaunt 18 Aug 1800 Saint Alkmund, Derby.

Added:
If you go to https://www.familysearch.org/search/records/index#count=20&query=%2Bsurname%3Afrith~%20%2Bbirth_place%3A%22derbyshire%2C%20England%22~%20%2Bbirth_year%3A1800-1830~%20%2Bfather_givenname%3Ageorge~%20%2Bfather_surname%3Afrith~%20%2Bmother_givenname%3Ajane~&collection_id=1473014

You will find about 7 children of George and Jane - some ch at Atlow and some at Bradley - both near Ashbourne evidently, so probably the same family.

What was his wife's name?

Happy Hunting!

You have the right one.
That is as far back as I know. But I don't know his parents names and that is what I am after. I appreciate anything that you can let me know. I was so pleased to know that someone knows something about this family tree.Joseph is my greatgreat grandfather. I think he worked in the lace industry.
Thanks so much for your help.
Brmaenda.

I have just been on the site you sent me and that family all ties in.
So it seems that my gggparents were George Frith and Jane Gaunt.
Joseph had a son named George (maybe after his father) and a daughter named Harriet, maybe after his sister.  This seems to fit in, don't you think. Thanks again.

Hi
You might like to check this website out. It doesn't say who Joseph's parents are but he and his family are listed. You might find it interesting!
