Hi Kate,
Checked in the National Library in Dublin but unfortunately the micro film records for Ardboe only go to 1880 so I can't help you any further on the Forbes/Devlin family.

Hi Anne and Kate,
I previously posted a  message on this subject and stated that if you want info on Ardboe genealogy then contact Pat at  'Ardboe Gallery' which can be found on Facebook. They have access to records back to 1830 ish. Probably cost  a lot less too.

Hi Pat,

It was Kate who was looking for details on William John Forbes.  The Forbes family I was looking for was Gabriel Forbes (1839-1922) married to Mary McWilliams (~ 1840-1900)  They were both from Arboe but went to Scotland ~ 1869.  Some of the children were born in Arboe/ Coagh and the rest in Glasgow.
Gabriel's parents were James Forbes and Catherine McKee and Mary McWilliam's parents were Bernard McWilliams and Anne Farrell.
Bernard McWilliams was a private in the Foot. (I assume he was a soldier)
Any more information would be appreciated.
