Hugh Casson WHINERAY
« on: Tuesday 20 December 11 10:35 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for descendants of Whineray. Hugh Casson married my great aunt Sarah Ann Halewood (nee Isaac ) on May 8, 1907 at St Mathews, Liverpool, Lancashire.   their children, were John William, born November 2, 1907 & Eleanor Ethel born about September quarter 1909 both in Birkenhead, Cheshire.   It seems Hugh may have died as Sarah remarried Richard James Clarke during the September quarter of 1914, Sarah died in 1950 not sure of the location, can anyone help please. Kind regards Peteri1:'

Seems it is Hertfordshire after all.

Hugh Casson Whineray born 1885 Watford 3a 543

Did you know this? What have you actually got?
(Saves duplication of effort)

:)Hi Ray, the information I Have was sent to me it was found on RootsChat by my cousin, it is entitled "WHINERAY CHART 0504", Hugh Casson Whineray is found on "WHINERAY CHART 0605".   We were searching for our great aunt Sarah Ann Isaac, born 1879 at Toxteth Park, Liverpool. Lancashire, Hugh was her second husband, her first William Halewood, died in 1901, she married Hugh at St Mathews; Liverpool, Lancashire, on May 8, 1907, they had two children, John William, born November 2, 1907 & Eleanor Ethel, born about September quarter 1909, both at Birkenhead, Cheshire.    Hugh emigrated to Australia, married EileenJosephine Carol, his occupation in Australia was given as Fitter, he died October 26, 1995.   Eleanor possibly married William Leslie Burton, March quarter 1931, West Derby District, Lancashire.   I have no other information on Hugh Casson Whineray, I presume he passed away as Sarah Ann then married Richard James Clark ( Clarke ), September quarter, 1914, West Derby District, Lancashire.   I have found a death of Sarah Ann Clark , died 1950 in Manchester, not sure if it is her though.   I have a photo of her but it is not very clear.   Other than that I have no other information of the Wheneray's except for the Australian connection, I have spoken to John William Whinerays daughter who advises that her father did not know his father, I would appreciate any help you can give me on both Hugh & Sarah please,
Kind regards & have a merry Xmas and happy new year

Hi

It seems that all the information (and lots more) is available on the website mentioned (but not identified).

So,

This link gets you to it
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,434803.0.html

You could also go to the top of this page and select "SEARCH"
Enter "Whineray", scroll down and hit search.
One of the posts contains
"may have found Hugh Casson Whineray on the UK incoming passenger lists in 1924"

Or even
http://www.terrys.org.uk/charts/uvw/whine700.htm

May I suggest that you read all that is there, digest it, then ask us to help what you then find missing?
More than willing to help.

There is a birth in 1918 (W. Derby Q1 8b 344) to Clark / Whineray,
but I won't post in case the gentleman is living.

Tea and mince pie next   8)

Regards
Ray

Hi Ray, thankyou for the info, I have the History of the Isaac family ( Sarah Ann Isaac ) from 1512 to the present day, it is my families direct line.   There are a few missing pieces re Sarah's brother George Albert Isaac, he was on the 1881 census but not found after that, also Sarah's mother Mary Allan, born in Ireland, cannot trace her or her sister Margaret in Ireland.
My cousin is in touch with a grandaughter of Eleanor Ethel Whineray & William Leslie Burton, I think the grandaughter 's father was John Burton.   You intrigued me with the comment re the Clarke/ Whineray connection, I will now try and find the information, again thankyou for your assistance, please have a Merry Xmas & a Happy New Year, Kind regards

Hi Peter and Ray,

One of the children born to Richard James and Sarah Ann Clark (nee Isaac formerly Halewood/Whineray) was :

Richard Herbert Clark born 1915 died 1983 and was married to Alice Eileen Burton in 1942 they had two daughters who I can`t name on here as they may be still living.

Richard James and Sarah Ann Clark had two sons the other one born as Ray said in 1918.I was given this information by a Grandson of Sarah Ann Clark. The Grandson is a son of Sarah`s daughter Eleanor Ethel Whineray(nee Burton)

Don`t think Alice Eileen Burton and Eleanor Ethel Whinerays husband William Burton were related.  :D

I have a photo of Richard Herbert and Alice Eileen Clark(nee Burton).
