Thank you 'scotmum'...
That makes a lot more sense about the Mills/Milne names.

Dear Jan,
I recently did the Yule family tree for a friend of mine and they were from Errol and Inchure. If you find out any more about Elizabeth's family (eg parents) I might be able to tell if she was from the branch I was researching.

Hi Bob,

Elizabeth Yule was born in Eroll, Perthshire in May 1812 to William Yule and Elizabeth Robertson...
William Yule was a servant to a farmer, Andrew Archer...
That's about all I know.

Hi Jen,

I am pretty sure they are the same family. I think William Yule (Catherine Lamont's husband) is the brother of Elizabeth Yule (my 3rd great grandmother). Do you have much information about William and Elizabeth's parents (William Yule and Elizabeth Robertson)?
Looking forward to hearing from you...

Jan.

Hello Jan

I do not know anything about William Yule & Elizabeth Robertson I only know of them because it was on Williams death certificate,I can't even find a marriage certificate for Elizabeth Robertson & William Yule, Do you know?  I am sure I have spoken to you on another website its lovely to speak to you on Rootschat.  You were talking about Elizabeth Yule born 1851 Inchture, she married my Grandfather James Hodge, she died 27 September 1936 and is buried in Balgay Cemetery Dundee.
I seem to havea wee bit more information than I thought, I have Elizabeth Robertson William Yule married 30 May 1802 at Longforgan, I have some children David born 4 Feb.1803 James born 1805 Jean 1807, Elizabeth and a William but I do not have dates, do you have this? I am hoping this is of help to you I will be going to do more research in May so maybe I can get something else, the name Milne is ringing a bell but can't quite put my finger on it.   Hope to hear from you soon,
Jen.

Hi Jen,

I unfortunately don't have much information about William Yule and Elizabeth Robertson either. I do have a copy of their marriage which was on the 30th May 1802 in Longforgon, Perthshire, Scotland, as you said. I also have Elizabeth Yule born 3 May 1812 in Errol, Perthshire. I'll look to see what else I have but don't think it is much more.

Cheers,
Jan

They had 9 children,is this the right family?  You said in your last posting that you had Elizabeth&William Yule marriage certificate you know I have been looking for that Can you tell me where you got it? I have been searching S.P. to no avail.   Can you let me know if this is the Yule/Milne family you are looking for.

Hi Jen,

I tried to attach the marriage certificate but was unable to send it.  :(
I will send you a private message with my email address and if you are happy to email me your address, I will send it to you.
This is definitely the right family...the David Milne that you mentioned is my 2nd great grandmother's brother. Her name was Christina Milne and she was the youngest child of James Milne and Elizabeth Yule. My mum has memories of both David and Christina as they both lived into their nineties!
It would be lovely to swap more information too.

Jan.
