Jessie, were you using compatible or Epson cartridges when you went on the Epson helpline?  I've just had a look at the Epson prices.  :o

I've had a similar problem. Changed to another compatible brand and all is well.

You won't believe this - or maybe you will....

I ordered a new set of cartridges from another supplier, turned on the printer to install them and the darn thing never said a thing about the old cartridges being incompatible.  It's back to printing like a dream.  Maybe it's psychic.   ::)

Have you checked that the waste ink sponge is not 'full' - my earlier Epson needs this sorting out every so often. I sometimes pull out the sponge and rinse it out, but more often I just use kitchen towel to extract most of the excess ink.

I know there are hundreds of different Epson printers and yours may not be the same as others, but where is the waste ink sponge?

The waste ink pad is located in the base of the printer which usually requires the dismantling of the printer to get at it. Can be quite a messy task!

I have absolutely no idea where the waste ink sponge might be and can't find any mention of it in the reference guide.  Fortunately my printer seems to have recovered from its hiccup and is now accepting compatible cartridges.  Thanks anyway.
