The waste ink pad is located in the base of the printer which usually requires the dismantling of the printer to get at it. Can be quite a messy task!
Thanks for that. I have managed to find mine by moving the print head mechanism. Don't know yet if I can get it for cleaning without dismantling the printer though!

What you have found is not the waste ink pad. What is the model of your Epson?

My printer is an Epson SX515W.
So what have I found?

Thanks for the advice you're offering.

The pad under the printhead is just an absorption pad. I will see if I can get further info on where the waste pad is located.

Ok, I'm back.
The waste ink pads are located in the base of the printer which requires the printer to be dismantled to clean them. Looking at the service manual, there seems to be an inspection panel located at the rear of the printer. You could investigate this, and you might like to consider fitting one of these  ( I have no connection with the seller just in case any one is wondering, I just found it)
