Hi Chesapek, Andrew Caldwell Stevenson who married Mary Hendry was a brother to my Great Grandfather John Stevenson. They were in Northern Ireland, parents were James Stevenson and Jane Agnes White. Where they were born I do not know, but the mother died in Ballycregeagh. Daughter Nancy, Andrew and David went to Scotland, but John married Jane McVicker and stayed in Ireland. John's oldest son James was my Grandfather and he went to Scotland aged 14 to his Uncle Andrew, he married Sarah Forsythe who had also come from Ireland. James & Sarah had 11 children, my father was the fourth, called John.
My parents came to Australia in 1948.
Have found a brick wall in Ireland, so just about given up getting any further back, would really have liked a link back to Scotland as James Stevenson Snr. was originally from Scotland, but where?
Would really like to fill the gaps if your Uncle would do that. Thanks Annie
