I am looking for any information on the family Vance from Harthill around the 1900's I know there was a John Peden Vance who married a Jane Stevenson in Shotts in 1902 they had a few children one being Robert who married Hannah Kennedy McKee and Andrew who married Annette Morris ? from Shotts area I think John P Vance mother wes Elizabeth Peden and father was Robert Vance

When and where was John Peden Vance born?

There is a 1901 entry for a John Vance b 1882 West Calder Midlothian - parents Robert & Elizabeth - family were living in Shotts

I think we are on the right thread here I am doing this for my uncle John P Vance who is the Grandson of Jane Stevenson and John Peden Vance married in Shotts in around 1902 his father was Andrew Vance they had an Ice Cream business in Harthill around the 1960s I think

You need to check Scotlands People for the marriage of Robert Vance and Elizabeth Stevenson as the marriage cert will give their respective parents names and mothers maiden names

The Vance family i am looking for had an ice cream business in Harthill or round about that area around the 1950/60's Andrew Vance was one of the owners

       My daughter is married to Davi Vance who belongs to the Harthill Vance family you are looking for. His Grandfather & Grandmother are the Andrew & Annette Morris you mention, of Ice Cream fame.
