A quick follow up question
« on: Monday 12 December 11 20:52 GMT (UK) »
Hi All

AMBLY has kindly supplied me with an address I needed and wondered if anyone has a large scale map or info as to where the houses actually where?

The addresses were 91 and 93 Albert Avenue in Hull circa 1935 to 1960's.

Having looked on G** maps the likely place, ie along from 79, 81,83 etc appear to be new flats with completely different numbers. However, this location isn't where my Mum and Dad think the houses where. They think they were where today's no 71 is or there abouts. I haven't been able to find 91/93 in the 1911 census yet although 89, 90 and 92 appear.

If it helps, it was the Inchgarvie Nursing Home

Thanks for any help

Ian

Wish my memory was better, I used to walk down Albert Ave every Saturday 1940s-1950s to the swimming baths.

There's a bomb damage map on this web page - you should be able to enlarge each portion - hopefully you can work out the numbers.

I've now had a look and unfortunately the map won't help you.

However, there is an Anlaby Road website which might be helpful:-
