Hi
Looking for William Abraham Hirst son of George Hirst and Annie nee Davis born 1869 Bidford on Avon Warwickshire 1869 last known residence Halewood Villa Blenheim Rd Moseley 1891 Census, records from Abraham Hirst 1790-1864 of Hullen Edge Estate, Trust account is being managed by Solicitor John Ayrton of Brighouse, York in 1918 also his brother Percy Verney Hirst my Great Grandfather who migrated to Australia.
This would indicate he is still living abroad in 1918 maybe Canada or South Africa, can not find any record of travel.

In 1891, what was his occupation?

Thank you
In 1891 Cencus unfortunately it has him at the age of 21 living with his sister Kate 24 and Lillian 20 all living on own means, no occupation his other brother George Frank Hirst and Cousin Arthur Hirst had gone to Halifax Nova Scotia Canada 1886 and in 1892 was living at Rainy River Ontario as farmers hence William could have gone over to be with them, but other than the travel record you have found I can not find other evidence.

Cheers Rod

Update on info found on William. Found him in a 1921 Census living at South Street, Sandy Lake Podton of T18 R20 W1, Marquette, Manitoba unmarried. then a death record that I need to check is correct for a William Hirst aged 70 at Brandon, Manitoba, Canada REGISTRATION NUMBER: 1940,028007
Can any one confirm this info or find him between 1901 and 1940

Thank You Rod

If you moved this post to the Canada forum, polarbear and/or sandra would be all over it in minutes.  I found him in the 1901 census of Clanwilliam Manitoba living with older brother Frank George Hirst.  No trace of him in 1906, 1911 or 1916 censuses of Manitoba, but his presence in Sandy Lake in 1921 shows he has only moved 20 or so miles in the intervening period.  Single adults with no fixed address were often missed by census takers.

The registration Number for the death in 1940-028007 gives a date of birth for William of 20 July 1869.

The birth record for William Abraham Hirst - July/Aug/Sept 1869 - 6D 558 Alcester Warwickshire would confirm if you have the right person.

Have you e-mailed the public library in Brandon to see if there was a death notice or obituary. ?
