« on: Sunday 04 December 11 11:59 GMT (UK) »
1901 census living in Winterton -daughter age 5 Annie Mary, Son George age 1 also Winifred and Dorothy.
Winifred was my Grandmother. looking for anyone connected with the family There was a further daughter  Lizzie after this date but I don't know of George but Wades death inquest [as he was found dead in land drain] his wife stated that he had problems after his boys went to war! He was a very well known Lincolnshire man, lovely paper cuttings about him in my possession.

Hi distant relative, this is the third time I have tried to reply and each time it has disappeared before posting very exasperating!!!!
I have lots of information regarding Elizabeth Wade but only 3 children Wade, George and Dan born 1877, showing on 1881 census Elizabeth is Widow. Do you know when John was born and presumambly he died before 1881. I have just received marriage  cert. for Elizabeth and Samuel as am trying to track Samuels parents and siblings. Wade became Ropers apprentice and Dan Tailors apprentice.Grandfather William Wade was a Tailor, and George was Boy on Crew in Portland Dorset on Ketch in 1891. In 1901 and 1911 he is living in Sculcoates district with William Henry and Marth Ann Foster [nee Wade] sister to Jane and Elizabeth.

Hi I am Will Schofield  I will be 70 this year and did not know my G grandnother  was Jane Wade till 9 tears ago. I did not know my Great gandfathers name James Schofield. My grandfather Henry died in Rochdale, 1952, my father died in 1960 at the age of 47 here in Cheshire. So i never realy knew any family history. The Wades  it seems you may know better than me.
I suspect that John and Dan walker were the same person.
Amelia wade and Kezia wade also the same person.

on the parish register burials Kezia is listed as infant died 03.01.1854 buried St John the Baptist Whitton. On the marriage certificate of Elizabeth Wade and Samuel Walker the Witnesses are William Wade and Amelia Wade. I am presuming it is William the eldest son but Amelia would only be about 13 years old as on 1891 census she is still living with parents in Whitton age 32 born 1859 [[Dressmaker] but in 1872 they probably didn't take much notice of age of witness!
Do you belong to the Schofield line of seafarers I have a few books, one of which is by Fred Schofield, Humber Keels and Keelmen, very big family of Schofields listed in it. Perhaps thats how Jane Wade met with the Schofield name. I have only recently started on this side of the family and with it being local to me its great fun as I can visit the family areas quite easily.
Whitton is only a few miles away as is Broughton and Winterton, the areas where Elizabeth and her sons lived. Wade married Frances Metcalf and recently someone else has contacted me with details of the Metcalf line as her Gt Grandmother was sister to Frances.

The Schofield family comes from a area which was called the Schofield, Saddleworth. Most of my Schofields came down from the hills to Ashton and Failsworth were Silk Weavers,Carpenters and then to work for the Lancashire Yorkshire Railway. James Schofield ( 1803 - 1888 ) his wife Mary Swift ( 1807 - 1872 ) and their 10 children whent to the USA. Most ended in Springfield , Missouri.  My great grandfather after fighting in the US Civil war came back to Manchester and got a job with a Scotish builder who had a Housekeeper, Jane Wade, They married in 1883 and had Henry my grandfather. Jane is burried in Kearsley with James and her son John Ashton who died in 1906, heart failier, just before my gandfathers wedding.
