Look Up, William PENROSE, Emigrant to US

Hello,
 Trying to find more information on a William Penrose (William Ramsay Penrose) born abut 1870 from Cornwall. He arrived in the USA in 1887.  In the US, he lived in Vincennes Indiana then in Perry County Arkansas.  Died in 1919.

Do you have records that would confirm this person's family (parents, place of birth)?

More information is required - Penrose isn't an uncommon name in Cornwall

1881 census has 3 Williams, born 1869-1872, but 1 of these is still around in 1891.

The other 2 are:
1) William Penrose, 12, b St Austell, parents Edwin & Sarah.
Edwin is a Master Carpenter.

2) William Penrose, 9, b Truro, parents John & Elizabeth.
John is a Tanner.

Did William arrive in US with any siblings?

As far as we know, William arrived alone in the US. My grandmother (his daughter) told me that he worked on a ship (I think she said as a fisherman) to get to America, so I don't know now long it was between his arrival here in 1887 and when he left Cornwall. 
I am fairly certain that his actual date of birth is April 25, 1870.  I have seen this written in several places by my Grandmother and her sisters. 
One issue has been his middle name:  It is written Ramsey and Ramsay and also as William H R Penrose...

The first record we have of William Penrose in the US (1890) is a record in Vincennes Indiana that includes a note of arrival as 1887. It dose not indicate which port...  I have been trying to suss out which port he would have entered from and how he wound up in Indiana...  I assume that he must have come up river from the Mississippi if for no other reason than the Mississippi plays an important roll in much of our family lore...
But William apparently worked his way over as a crew member of some sort of ship...  and we really don't have any idea if he came down to Indiana from Canada or over from the Eastern Coast.....

a birth on 25/4 should have been registered in the june quarter of that year. There is no birth reg in England & Wales for a William Penrose in that quarter.

Is there any record that you could get access to that would give his father's name? Marriage record perhaps?

US Naturalisation Record has a William PENROSE age 32, Birth c 1870, Year of Arrival 1889, New York, Date of Action 3 Dec 1902.

Thank you for that information....  I noticed in the 1900 Census from Vincennes Indiana, William has a birth date listed as October 1870 which is different from the date in my Grandmother's bible...   
I don't have any documents as yet that tie William with his family.  I am trying to locate an old bible that one of my Great Aunts has, it may contain more information, but it doesn't look hopeful that I will find it.
I am hoping that if I can find his Immigration Documents, or ship manifest I might find a name of a parent or town...
I will say that there is one William Penrose located in St Austrell Cornwall in the 1871 Census that seems hopeful, but there are just too many Williams out there...

I think we will be able to determine (despite the birth date being so far off) that he is
William Henry Rounsley Penrose born April 25, 1861.

Once you have had time to read my PM I hope you will comment on the thread to avoid others continuing the search if we have the right family.
