I came across a blog from 2006 Damien b looking for details of James Carr who was a seaman and lived at 8 Latimer Street Liverpool during the 1851 census.

His in laws were related to Patrick Carr who was born in 1853. I think we are related my great Grandfather was Christopher Carr he was born in 1850 to James Carr a seaman - I found this out from his marriage cert.
The families went back and forth to UK James worked on the boat which went from Dublin or DunLaoghaire to Liverpool.
Christopher was married twice in Ireland and his son from the first marriage Patrick had no children. His second marriage had mostly girls and his first daughter Mary Ellen was my grandmother History related that Mary Ellen went to visit cousins in Liverpool in the 1920's and they came to Dalkey and Thomastown (Sallynoggin)  where the Carrs lived. If Damien comes back on site he might contact me please.

Hello Ourgang,

I just noticed your post and was really surprised. My G-G-Grandfather was Christopher Carr from Avondale in Sallynoggin. My Great Grandmother (his daughter) was Catherine Carr, who went on to marry Jack Butler of Tramore and they both spent the remainder of their lives in Sallynoggin.

I was wondering if you got Christopher's cert from his second marriage as I only have the first when he married Eliza?

I would be interested in talking to you a bit more...

Regards, Jamie Moran
