Hi there
Sorry, I dont want to throw a spanner in the works here but I think we are being mislead - the 1841 census does not state that Elizabeth is the wife of Thomas Hutchinson.
Looking for the Baptisms for Charles and Mary we get the following:
St Clements, 22 May 1807, Charles Hutchinson, son of Thomas & Mary
No baptism for daughter Mary though.
But, to argue against that I have just found
Location: Northiam, East Sussex, Date: 12 Apr 1819:
Groom: Thomas HUTCHINSON, widower
Bride: Elizabeth MUSTCHER
I wonder if the MUSTCHER is a miss spelling of MUSTCHEN
So, did Thomas marry twice, having the children with his first wife which could have been:
Location: Hollington, East Sussex, Date: 13 Dec 1792:
Groom: Thomas HUTCHINSON, widower from St Clements.
Bride: Mary LAVENDER, from St.Leonard
Married by Licence.
This family history lark certainly keeps the mind active
