The free index of the rolls at ancestry is excellent
you don't get a lot more helpful details..residence address and occupation
If there is a particular one that you need info from, you can ask
but in order to track where people are the free index is really good.
The full copy is not usually helpful to find children as the children have usually left home by the time they are enrolled. so you don't get the family groups like you do on UK census

I live in Wanganui and I have been and talked to a
*
who has done a Gibbard Family Tree. He is familiar with the descendants you are enquiring about. He does not have a computer so I will PM you next week with an e-mail address direct to Colin's daughter (she is away until Monday) so you can get some answers. Cheers.

What a player! if he only knew how long it has taken me to track down the Gibbards at Wanganui.
Thank you very much.

Just in case
*
has no idea who I am - I am Eva Slades nephew, her sister Flossie's son John Mumford. Eva was the daughter of Florence Ada Carpenter, Elizabeth Gibbard was her mother-in-law.
