Marriage Lookup Please
« on: Monday 28 November 11 21:47 GMT (UK) »
Hello, I am looking for the marriage of Joseph Booth and Elizabeth (Ingram) that was the wife's name I was given and a marriage of 1808.

They appear in the 1841 to 1861 Census and children.  He was a farmer.

Census Records indicate Joseph was born in Welford Norhants about 1791.

Elizabeth was born in Oxon Drayton about 1793.

I am a descendant of the child William born 1817.

If anyone can help I thank you!

Looking or Birth Record to show parents
« Reply #3 on: Tuesday 29 November 11 17:21 GMT (UK) »
I really appreciate the marriage record for Joseph and Elizabeth.  The 1841 Census shows that he
was born in Welford.

Family Search lists many births for a Joseph Booth around 1791 but I don't see a Welford.  Can anyone help me with other "Place name" to look for other than Welford.

Thank you!

Mary

There were no BOOTH baptisms in Welford, and no Josephs anywhere in the county, but it is possible that this is the marriage of his parents

John BOOTH of this parish to Mary BIRD of this parish
25th Oct 1783 at Welford.

Hi, it would appear that this is a good possibility.

I am very appreciative of your help.

how would i find out
« Reply #6 on: Wednesday 30 November 11 02:29 GMT (UK) »
I just read about William Booth from Booths Farm in Birmingham who was the last person to be hung.  He was apparently one of many children.    This may seem like a odd question but I'm in Canada and don't have a clue as to how I could find out if my Joseph Booth was related.

Any ideas, since I can't afford to hire a researcher.

Thanks

Mary

Hi Mary  :)

A William BOOTH of Booth's Farm is thought to be the last person hanged in England for forgery (1812), but the last hanging for murder was in 1964.

Details available for free - just google 'William Booth executed'!
