I'm trying to find out if anyone connected with the late Anna Elizabeth Rose. who died in 2012 in Nairn, have any old photographs of her ancestors.
My late husbands aunt worked for Miss Rose and stayed in one of the cottages on the castle grounds.
When her house was cleared after she died, we found an old album with sepia photographs and I think it may belong to the Rose family.
If anyone can provide photos I can compare them and gladly hand over the album to it's rightful owner

I understand that the heir is her nephew David Rose (né Baird) of Nairnside Farm, Croy.
I think his brother John Timothy ('Tim') Baird lives at Kilravock, but probably not in the castle which Elizabeth gave to some religious community.

Hi Tazzy.  I have some 19th and 20th century photos of various members of the Rose family (Elizabeth was my granny's first cousin but much younger than my grandmother) although I'm not quite sure how we'd compare them. The only person I remember who lived in a house in the grounds was Mary, who was the housekeeper and she had a cottage by the granary. She retired in the late 70s/early 80s. She was wonderful. Then there were two elderly ladies who actually lived with Elizabeth in the house she had built, but I presume you don't mean them as they didn't work for her.  I didn't stay at Kilravock much after 1980 so didn't get to know many of the staff.  If they are Rose family photos, they belong with David.  I hope to hear from you in due course.

This  query is for Bill Rose.

I am interested in the James Rose line. My father's cousin -James Alfred Rose the through maternal line, my grandmother. He had a wooden plaque of the Rose Coat of Arms. He passed away some years ago -his wife more recent (no children). I was fortunate and  recognized it.

Could you tell me more about that line? I understand only one can hold the Coat of Arms.  I have James Alfred Rose father's pocket watch,- given to me by my father and mother. I know who has the Coat of Arms plaque in their possession.
