Thanks very much for your help with my enquiry.

I think you were right with John/Catherine and family.
Ive only just looked again at my post and the Witness,s at Johns (son) wedding to Mary along with his father john Morse was a John Thomas.
He was most probably John Thomas who was  John Morse seniors employer!! if that makes sense..

I can locate no baptism of a John Morse at Camrose, St Ishmaels or Jordanston however I do note the baptism of a John Morse at Johnston in 1840, fuller details are unknown at this time.
