Field Punishment
« on: Saturday 26 November 11 15:12 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone,  My father was awarded 7 days Field Punishment under Section 9 AA (asleep on duty!).  I am intrigued to know what sort of punishment would have been metred out. Also, would he have been sent to a military prison or would FP be carried out where he was stationed.

The clue lies in the title Field Punishment. This was carried out in the battle field, he would not go to a military prison.

The man would be subject to removal of his liberty in one form or another.  Number one field punishment was to be tied to the wheel of a gun for 24hrs.

He would have been very uncomfortable whatever he received.
