« on: Saturday 26 November 11 12:19 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for Alfred Green born 1854/1933 to Robert Green and Eliza Downing in
Chippenham, Cambridgeshire He went missing between 1871 /1881 and I think that he may have been in the army as in the 1871 census there is an Alfred Green in a London barracks how do I find out or dose someone know . Thank you so much Tom.

Does the 1871 record give any idea of the regiment involved? If so, see what the National Archives have for that regiment in terms of attestation forms. If you could find that it would clinch matters one way or another.
