It seems he died of Peritonitis sub Phrenic Abscess within 10 days, he died on the 14 September 1915, at the Military Hospital Curragh.
It seems strange that his family never notified local press here at Shrewsbury regarding his death, no notifacation at all,

Thanks for the update. I wonder if his death was as a result of an injury or an operation?

Anyway, I will let you know if I learn anything else.

Hi again Shropshire

I managed to arrange to see the burial records for St Brigids Cemetary and as I suspected it didn't tell me anything new.  The only thing that might be of interest is that it said 'The Barracks, Kildare Town' which I think would imply Pte Walker was stationed in Magee Barracks in the town not the Curragh Camp (which I had assumed).

Sorry I can't find anything else.
Best regards
