The top line - 'Welcome back, bazzaear, you have 0 new messages' - is a link to private messages.

If you click on the third line down - 'Show new replies to your posts' - this will take you to those posts which you have made and to which there is a new response.

If you want to check posts which you have made and to which no-one has responded since your last visit, click on your profile and go to 'Show the last posts'.

Hi Bazzear

"Posts" and "Messages" are separate and different things.

"messages", as in "you have 123 messages", are Personal Messages (PM/pm as abbreviated)
These are the private messages between you and another Rootschatter
These PM's cannot be seen by anyone else.
You can liken them to emails within Rootschat membership only.

"posts" are messages from you to all others or anyone to all others.
"posts" are made against/within "threads" (topics).
All threads/topics are publicly viewable/searchable externally to Rootschat.
eg Google indexes posts within "no time at all"
So be careful out there. (Quote from Hill Street   :)  nonetheless still applicable )

"The wise man knows how little he knows, the foolish man does not". My Grandfather & Father.

"You can’t give kindness away.  It keeps coming back". Mark Twain (?).

If you want to see your own recent forum posts, to see if there have been any replies, then you should click on the "Profile" tab at the top of the screen, which will take you to your own profile, and there is a link at the bottom "Show all posts by this RootsChatter".
