Have been in the same boat as Tree Searcher and others since early Sunday morning. Trying to access any of the IGI sites (Old FamilySearch, New FamilySearch and Hugh Wallis' IGI Batch) produces the following message "Internet Explorer unable to display Web page" (after a long wait).

So, clicked on "Diagnose Connection Problems" and "Windows Networks Diagnostics" Box appears with the message
"Cannot communicate with new.familysearch.org (nnn.n.nnn.nnn - the IP address)
"Network Diagnostics pinged the remote host but did not receive a response"
"Reset the Network Adapter 'Wireless Network Connection'"
"Resetting the adapter can sometimes resolve an intermittent problem"

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?

regards

Gnu, you are a genius.

One of the websites you sent said turn off router and turn on again. That is such a simple thing, why did I not think of that? Well because I could access all other sites.

It worked!

Wow -wonderful. Feel much better now

hanes teulu - seems I have cracked it. Thank you for your message. What a nuisance. All ok now though

YTS -have a nice evening both and all others who have helped along the  way

Glad it's sorted - I'll remember that if I ever find myself in that situation!

My next suggestion was to swear at it in Welsh  ;D ;D ;D

Your Tree Searcher,

One question left - why you and me? What did WE do to deserve this?

hi Charlotte, this is in reply to some earlier posts you made. you might already know this but here goes; The New Ferry wasnt known as such to the locals, it was simply The Ferry, The New Ferry was a name given to a different area, my uncle Pat Graffin moved from The Ferry to New Ferry. There WAS a photo of The Ferry, labelled  'New Ferry' on the wall of Ulster Folk And Transport Museum in the Transport section but i believe its now gone, it showed a scene of the 'street' from just off the main road. I visited the area when i was young with my mother Winifred McCloskey [nee Graffin] and Uncle Pat used to take us out onto River Bann on a boat. Another coincidence is my mother who died in 1985 is buried in Crebiily Cemetry, as is her sister Rosemary McGarry [nee Graffin]. Dont know if this is of any help to you, take care.................. Gerald McCloskey, Antrim
