netgear help please
« on: Thursday 17 November 11 19:40 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
i have a new netgear router, i'm having problems with one laptop!
i have got it on the network but it when i click on IE it wont connect, keeps coming up with 'internet explorer cannot display the webpage'
i have one laptop connected (the one i'm using now) also a small tablet and my phone are connected and surfing fine, but the other one wont connect, as all the others are connected and the lights on the router are stable i know it's not the router, so i must of done something wrong with the other laptop, it was ok on the old router.
thanks,
chris.

The laptop is connected wirelessly, I assume ?   The problem is probably due to the way that the laptop is set up.  It needs to be set so that it gets an IP address from the router.  I suspect that it has been set with a static address, and it can't find the routing information.

The way to cure this will vary with the version of Windows installed on the laptop.

Best Wishes,  Nick.
