Nicholas Mccoy Boer War Medals

I had a Great Uncle,Nicholas Mccoy who fought and died in the Boer War.He was shot in 1902 and fought in all the major battles.Would all of his medals have been sent home.I have spoken to all his relations over a number of years but nobody can recall seeing or hearing of any medals.

Cant answer what happened to his medals but from his service records he certainly had some.

Would that be 289 Driver N.McCoy, 61st Battery Royal Field Artillery?
Wounded at Brakfontein on 17th March 1902 and died shortly after.
Entitled to a 6-clasp QSA medal - Cape Colony, Tugela Heights, Relief of Ladysmith, Orange Free State, Laings Nek, Belfast.

Any personal effects were probably sent home.
But his QSA medal would have been issued at home to his next-of-kin. He wouldn't have ever seen it.

He was indeed dvr.Nicholas  Mccoy 61st f.a.r.An irishman who died on paddys day.

Nicholas was born in County Louth Ireland.Ihave his service record.
