You are so kind Rod, Thanx ever so much.  Meanwhile I shall keep looking on 1837 online to see if they really did get married.  I did see a programme on Ch.4 a couple of weeks ago and their cameraman was a John Sennitt (which is a very stong name in my family tree) so i mailed the tv station and they said their film was made by a company in Brighton, so i wrote to them, but to date have had no reply...... so maybe they had a Son together plus others.  Thanx once again.
Regards Margaret.

Margaret,

I have not forgotten this. Have tried several local libraries but they did not have the directories I was looking for. I will try some others next week when I have an hour free.

Message for M.Sharp.

Being new I cannot communicate by PM with you but noting your interest in the name Dowsing I am about to dispose of a postcard addressed to a Mrs Dowsing at Hampden Park Eastbourne. It is from a wounded WW1 soldier and addressed "Dear M". I believe he also wrote another contemporaneous postcard to a Miss Baker, Brasted Hall, Sevenoaks. I will scan the rear of both before sale in case they are of interest to you.

I also note your interest in the name Collison. I am certain I tried to look up that name in connection with locating a postcard picture that I believe to be of the Bury St. Edmunds area. I will attempt to locate and leave a further message if I can find it.

Regards.

Not sure if you are still looking but I have a postcard of the Hampden Park Hotel (or the Trust House as we knew it) dated around 1912
