can anyone recommend an Ireland-based researcher?

Hi,

I've researched English and Scottish ancestors quite thoroughly but am stumped when it comes to figuring out the Irish roots. I have considered travelling to Ireland myself to research but think it might be cheaper and easier to hire someone to do the work for me.

Can anyone recommend a reliable, reasonably priced, Ireland-based genealogist who can help me out with birth and marriage records in Dublin/Cork and also Co Tyrone?

It depends on the dates you are interested in - but to research records before the start of civil registration (whether you do this yourself, or hire a researcher based in Ireland) you need to establish the denomination(s) of the families you are searching for and also where in Ireland they lived - ideally the townland or parish. Once you have these details you can then check if records are available for the dates you are interested in, and also where they might be located.
