Miles Redmond & Ellen Cosgrave Bunclody

I am looking for information on a Miles (Myles) Redmond born approx. 1835 in Craigue or Kilrush, Bunclody. He married an Ellen Cosgrave (Coscar) They had three children, Michael, Patrick (my great grandfather) and Mary Anne. I am unable to trace a birth, marriage or death certificate for Miles Redmond. Would really like to find out where Miles is buried. Thanking you in advance.

Full civil registration started in 1864 - so there will be no birth cert for Miles. You would have to check for church records. What denomination were your Redmond family ?

Non-Catholic marriages were registered from 1845.

You can check the BMD Index for possible death references for Miles - See : Introduction to Irish Records

Bunclody was also known as Newtownbarry, and is located in the registration district of Enniscorthy.

Thank you Shane. I have searched Familysearch.org in the past and the only information I can come up with is the births of Miles and Ellen's children.  I believe his father's name was James Redmond born 1777. I have quite a bit of information further back the line but am finding it difficult to establish the link. I think I may need to visit the National Library to proceed further. Many thanks for your assistance.

RC baptism and marriage records for the parish of Newtownbarry, which covers the town go back to 1834. The NLI film reference is Pos. 4251

The RC parish covers the civil parishes of Ballycarney, Kilrush, St. Marys (Newtownbarry), and Templeshanbo.

According to Griffith Valaution which would be 20 years or later there are Redmond living in both Graigue Mor and  Graigue Beg both of which are in the Parish of Kilrush. There are also Redmond families listed as Clohamon and Castlequarter which are not too far from Graigue Mor/ Beg but they are in the parish of Bunclody or then Newtownbarry
