where is lower agbrigg please?

i have a death registered in lower agbrigg in 1951. im not sure if this is the right death as the spouse of this lady's death died only 6 years later in wakefield.

when i google lower agbrigg on google maps it gives me a street name not a town or place. are wakefield and lower agbrigg near each other please?

I have rellies born Lower Agbrigg which I understand is a part of Wakefield

Agbrigg,  is about mile from the centre of Wakefield, there is a few streets off the main
agbrigg road,and a few shops,  the cemetry  is only a few minutes walk  away, and it is classed  as Wakefield, does this help

If you look on FreeBMD for a registration in Lower Agbrigg, eg Smith in 1939, and then click on L A this will take you to the areas covered by that Registration District.

It's not exactly a place as such, it's an administrative area. I doubt anyone would ever say they came from Lower Agbrigg!

That's exactly was I was trying to imply with my use of the link describing a Wapentake, in reply #2

Agbrigg was a wapentake, an obsolete term for a sub-division of the West Riding. It was the equivalent of the term "Hundred" used in the South of England.

Upper and Lower Agbrigg seem to have stretched from Wakefield to beyond Huddersfield, although it now seems to refer specifically to a district of Wakefield.
