Hi,
Just to help - Northenden is now part of Manchester but in 1911 it was in Cheshire, part of the Bucklow Hundred.

If you haven't already done so:
use the Advanced Search on the free 1911 search, type in Luke Burne (spelling as found by Carole), residence Northenden, county Cheshire, then for place of birth, keep entering different Irish counties until you hit the right one. Then do the same for Bridget.

Hi Anita,
No problem, welcome to the site and I'm sure you will soon get used to it!
As you have already realised, we will help to sort out anything that you are not sure about - just give as much information as you can so that we know what to look for!

Hi Anita,
Margaret Maud Filan (Married to James Beirne) was my gran. Luke is also my gr grandfather. I wasn’t aware of any connection outside Ireland so this is intriguing. My gran and her parents were Roscommon.
